– About the Artists –

Resonate supports local artists in our community! You can too!

Avery Hill has been teaching music since 2013, and is a staple instructor of the Portland (OR) ‘ukulele community. Over the years, she has run her own studio of ‘ukulele classes and workshops, and is a regular instructor at the Menucha Ukulele Band Camp. More recently, she has maintained a YouTube channel for ukulele tutorials and has begun teaching songwriting, including at the Songwriter Soireé Retreat. Also a singer/songwriter, Avery’s latest album is Dreams & Ghosts: A Family Album (2015), featuring the award-winning single Hello & Goodbye.

Kristin Gordon singer, songwriter, musician, and teacher, founded Resonate Choral Arts in 2014. She loves coffee, singing in harmony, laughing, and looking for meaning in everyday things. Most recently, she’s creating a sonic oracle deck: Songs of the Sphere with her long-time visual collaborator, Beth Lorio. You can find more of their collaborations on Youtube.

Ali Ippolito teaches piano, directs, accompanies and arranges music for a small church choir, and has written and recorded her own music. Her solo album, “We, the Dangerous Weapons,” under the name When the Broken Bow, was released in May 2012. In her spare time, she makes soap with her local soap-making LLC, Critical Bath, does crossword puzzles, knits, plays with herbs, adores her cat, and loves to make anything else for beauty’s and practicality’s sake. You can find her music on Bandcamp and her soap on Etsy!

Aaron Elliot has been immersed in music since the age of five and is a passionate advocate for community-based music-making. He performs as a vocalist and bassist with the Portland folk trio Flyover States and serves as a musical director and instructor at PDX Vox, a community a cappella choir program.

James Rossi is a multi-instrumentalist who performs Jazz and Country music as a solo performer, with The Sweet Old Souls, and many acts around the Pacific Northwest and beyond. He plays monthly at Havalina in St. Johns - keep an eye on his show announcements on his Instagram at JamesRossiMusic, and jamesrossimusic.com.

Ali Wesley writes music, books and movies and they're all about figuring out who we are in this huge and tiny life. She is playing her songs at 4:30pm on Sunday, June 8th at the Turn Turn Turn as well as signing with her beloved choir, Nocturne, at Mendelssohns at 8pm on June 10th.
